Digitala Lagkassan: from launch build to scale-up consulting

We helped take the first version of Digitala Lagkassan to market, then returned later to support the next technical phase as the product scaled.

Context

A launch build that later became infrastructure for managing team funds at scale.

Digitala Lagkassan helps associations and teams handle money in a safer, smoother, and more transparent way. What matters here is not just the feature list, but the fact that the product solved a real operational problem and then had to grow beyond its original launch phase.

Product journey

Our role covered two very different phases of the product journey.

01

Bring to market

In 2019 we helped build the first PHP version and supported the product as it moved from idea to market-ready service.

02

Handover

After launch, the internal development team took over, continued improving the product, and expanded the feature set for associations and teams.

03

Return as consultants

As adoption increased, we came back as consultants during the planning of a technology shift toward .NET and React.

04

Prepare for scale

The goal was to support a growing Swedish market and prepare the platform for more associations, more teams, and future international expansion.

Platform

The product replaced fragile, manual money handling with a structured operational layer.

Instead of team treasurers working through private accounts, spreadsheets, scattered Swish payments, and manual reporting, the platform gives associations a clearer digital system for collections, payments, transfers, invoicing, approvals, reports, and handover.

  • Real-time deposits into team cash balances
  • Swish, card, Bankgiro, QR code, and payment notice flows
  • Sponsor invoicing and payment matching
  • Payouts, transfers, and configurable approval levels
  • Accounting reports, PDF exports, and SIE files
  • Safer handover when the team treasurer changes

Scale

Why the later scale-up phase mattered

The product had already found market fit with thousands of active teams.
The original architecture had served the launch phase, but growth demanded a stronger long-term foundation.
The .NET and React direction created room for clearer boundaries, improved maintainability, and higher scaling capacity.
Our consulting role helped connect product reality, legacy knowledge, and the next technical chapter.

A similar challenge

The sector may change. The need for a clearer system is often the same.
